Al-Rand was responsible for the design and construction of the Pioneer Camp on the Majnoon Oil Field near Basra, Iraq. The camp consisted of 80 single client rooms and a mixture of double and quad units for the Operations & Maintenance contractor. Total occupancy of the camp is 200 people. Al-Rand installed all of the utility and infrastructure systems including power generation, fuel storage, water storage/supply, sewer, IT/Comms, security and access control. We constructed support buildings for the operations of the camp including kitchen/dining, recreational, security, medical clinic, access control, maintenance, laundry, and a 70 person office building. The dining and office building was protected by an overhead protection structure to resist any incoming mortar and rocket fire.

Our permanent solutions cover many applications such as residential villages, resorts, villas, hospitals, schools, hotels, cottages, mosques, as well as commercial and industrial buildings.
The above mentioned units are assembled on a 10cm layer of concrete, which acts as a permanent base. We then create wall partitions with external cement sheets of different thickness as per client’s requirements. From the inside, we either use gypsum walls or cement walls with a selection of heat insulations such as glass wool, polystyrene or injected polyurethane.
As for the partitions, there are also several options like light pre-cast concrete, which is then connected with the concrete floors using steel legs and columns as recommended by the weights structural study.
The facility is capable of producing light steel frames (stud and channel), with high tensile strength. Our sophisticated assembly of high quality automated production machines does not leave any margin for error during fabrication, and these frames are validated thoroughly by our expert technicians, assuring high level of quality control.
